Hello,

I’m Joi, the heart behind The Joi of Courage.

At nearly 61, I’ve lived seven lifetimes across four continents. Mother of four, grandmother of eighteen, former Director of International Protocol, CDL driver, and now—Courage Coach. My story has been anything but straight, but every twist has taught me one thing: courage is the key to beginning again.

For years, I put everyone else first. I learned the hard way that you can lose yourself in the titles—wife, mother, employee—and forget the woman underneath. Reinventing my life after divorce, empty nest, and career pivots showed me what so many women over 50 eventually realize: you still have dreams left in you, and it’s not too late.

That’s why I write here. My mission is simple:

  • To help mature women step out of fear and into clarity.

  • To guide you through change without losing yourself.

  • To remind you that confidence isn’t something you’re given—it’s something you build.

In other words, I don’t just write about courage. I live it, and I’ll help you live it too.

What you’ll find here:

  • Stories from my own journey of reinvention.

  • Tools & prompts from The Courage Journal and my coaching work.

  • Invitations to take bold moves—whether through journaling, group conversations, or 1:1 Courage Calls.

If you’re over 50, standing at a crossroads, and ready to begin again, this space was made for you.

Join me here at The Joi of Courage. Let’s build the next chapter together—with clarity, change, and confidence at the center.

Every week, I’ll pull back the curtain on one real, raw moment where courage showed up — not with trumpets, but with trembling hands and a steady heart. We’ll explore fear, failure, family, faith, and the sacred art of beginning again.
